KINDERGARTEN

My name is Kaitlyn Bolesta Lohrmann, (recently married on October 27th of this year!!!) and I am the kindergarten teacher here at OLV! A little about me- I love hiking, reading, and going on adventures. My family and friends mean the world to me, and my faith in Jesus Christ is what makes me fully alive.

This is my third year teaching kindergarten here at Our Lady of Victory! I graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio in May of 2016. I graduated with an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education with a Dual License in Special Intervention. Education is my passion, and it was always my dream to be a teacher since I was in first grade. It is such a blessing to be able to be living out that dream here as the kindergarten teacher at OLV.

Children have so much potential stored up inside of them, and I believe that the purpose of education is to teach students how to become the best versions of themselves that they can be. My view of my role as an educator follows this quote by Carol Ann Tomlinson, “Excellence in education is when we do everything that we can to make sure that they become everything that they can.”

 

I desire to teach my students knowledge about their school subjects of reading, math, writing, religion, science, and social studies, but also about how they are unique, and how they can each make an impact in the world around them. I do not want my students to ever feel that they are too small to make an impact. I want them each to know that their irreplaceable dignity and value as individuals makes them more than capable of making a difference. Good teaching calls students on to fully become who they are meant to be.

My biggest goal is to teach my students how to live lives of love, and what a gift it is to be able to do that here, at OLV, where I can do that by teaching them about Our Lord, Jesus Christ, who is Love Himself.
